Worry Eaters and Worry Monsters

I found out about a charity called knitfornowt, which offers patterns for knitted and crocheted creatures with mouths comprised of a zip pocket, for putting worries into. They are for use by Art Therapists, to explore any worries which a  child might have. They are quite large, between 12" and 17".

This is my first- I had a lot of fun making it.They are in demand so volunteer knitters/crocheters, do have a go at making your own.

Here is my second, recently donated to St,Christopher's Hospice, hopefully to be used as a therapy aid for  their CANDLE project supporting bereaved children.

Texture

Naturally weathered stonework from Finchale Priory, Co. Durham

All kinds of things give me textile inspiration. These Priory ruins are a case in point. We walked from Durham City Centre to the location of this building, by the River Wear.It took us 2 hours to get there.

In the Cathedral, this ancient graffiti and the designs on the pillars caught my eye
