Stashbuster Shawls

After a serious illness, I'd neglected my knitting and crochet and my stash was riddled with moth.I got rid of the infected stuff and had a go at making some shawls with the rest. Invested in several moth traps- sort of plastic cages, with a sticky pad which the moths are drawn to, and get stuck on. Hundreds of the blooming things!!
I adapted a 1970s Stitchcraft shawl pattern which used arcade stitch.
No sewing in of ends required!Just put ends in the tassells.

A close up of the stitch

This is from a shawl I made for nu folk singer Lisa Knapp. I learned how to play the Tin Whistle a few years back, in a group led by her husband, Irish musician Gerry Diver.Extraordinary musicians!

Lovely old Patchwork
Gifted this beautiful quilt last summer by my mother-in-law. Made by her husband's relatives in Gloucestershire, probably in the 1960s. Sadly, damaged beyond repair. Salvaged some of the intact pieces to make cushion covers for family members.
