Latest for Lowie

I made some crochet felted bags out of pure merino wool for ethical fashion brand, Lowie. Summer collection available at their website now. Fun, wearable clothes.

I help out with repairs- their policy is free repairs on all their garments!

Nine crochet squares make up the design. It is based on a bedspread in a 1970's craft leaflet. I get a lot of inspiration from my collection of vintage pattern books and publications. I really love them and feel indebted to the designers of yesteryear who often remained anonymous. We owe them so much.

Felting in the washing machine can be nail-biting, I do it in increments until I've got the size I want, approx 40cm square. A sheet or two of colour catcher and an old towel helps too.

I used leftover and recycled yarns from previous Lowie collections to make these items, so they are all slightly different, and limited edition.
