Isla Baby bootees
Isla Baby Bootees
I designed these about 4 years ago. They are difficult to kick off!
The
original pattern used four colours of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino 4ply. I’ve
revisted the pattern using just one ball of Adiafil Kimera, a variegated cotton
yarn. To get a matching pair, I wound off about half a ball making a note of
the colour changes. Then I rewound the second ball, so each bootee would start
at roughly the same place in the colour sequence. You could miss out this stage
if you don’t mind each one being completely different, but I wanted to mimic
colourwork. First you make the soles, following the chart, then the granny-like
uppers. A section of crochet rib is worked from the top edge of each granny.
Finally the soles are attached to the rib section using dcs.
