Isla Baby bootees

These are named after my great neice, Isla.

These baby bootees were for sale up at Handmade Palace, Crystal Palace (around the back of Haynes Lane close to Antenna recording studios), on saturdays
I think  £8 a pair is very reasonable, and they are versions of my original design  as featured in 'Inside Crochet' magazine.Photo used with permission, Tailor Made Publications.
A self-google revealed to my amazement that the pattern is now available free, here:

NEW VERSION

I recently revisited this pattern (May2021).This time, instead of 4 colours of Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino 4ply, I used 1 x 50g ball of Adriafil Kimera, a variegated cotton yarn.I made the cuff longer, and revised the sole so it lies flatter. Here is revised pattern:

Isla Baby Bootees

I designed these about 4 years ago. They are difficult to kick off!

The original pattern used four colours of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino 4ply. I’ve revisted the pattern using just one ball of Adiafil Kimera, a variegated cotton yarn. To get a matching pair, I wound off about half a ball making a note of the colour changes. Then I rewound the second ball, so each bootee would start at roughly the same place in the colour sequence. You could miss out this stage if you don’t mind each one being completely different, but I wanted to mimic colourwork. First you make the soles, following the chart, then the granny-like uppers. A section of crochet rib is worked from the top edge of each granny. Finally the soles are attached to the rib section using dcs.
